What do I need to use Groupnavi?
You need a compatible smartphone (iPhone 3GS+ with iOS5+), a Facebook account, and the Groupnavi application installed. You can download Groupnavi at the App Store.
Do I need a Facebook account to use Groupnavi?
To use Groupnavi, you need to have a Facebook account. In case you're not already on Facebook, you can sign up here.
I have too many groups in my list. What should I do?
By hiding them and making them inactive, they won't show on your list and appear on your map at all. You can always unhide them in the Settings menu if you want to see them again.
How can I create a group for my friends?
To have a group on Groupnavi just create a Facebook group or page. You can do so at the following links: create a Facebook group or create a Facebook page. If you want to locate a small group of friends, a closed or secret group is a good option.
Can I use Groupnavi without having my own group or page?
Yes you can.
Does Groupnavi work with all my Facebook groups and pages?
Yes it does.
How can I leave posts on the map?
You can leave posts on the map simply by selecting a group and pressing the 'Write post' button. Your post will be shown on both Groupnavi and Facebook only to the group it was written.
Can I show my profile picture on the map?
For privacy reasons, all users are shown on the map anonymously.
How does Groupnavi locate me?
Groupnavi locates you in a privacy-friendly way: your current location is shown to others as an icon of a Facebook group or page you have in common, without any identifying information.
How accurate is the locating?
When Groupnavi is being actively used, the application uses GPS for the most accurate possible location. However, when running in the background, Groupnavi tracks user locations via cell tower triangulation instead of using GPS. This gives a rougher estimate but significantly conserves battery life.
I don't want to be located at all just now. How can I turn it off?
To turn locating off, press 'Pause location tracking' button in the Settings menu.
How can I change my group settings, such as the logo?
Since Groupnavi works with Facebook groups & pages, all settings related to them can be managed in Facebook.
